Bradfield Tennis Club Sponsorship

How Code23 sponsored the Bradfield Tennis Centre Performance Program, helping young LTA-coached tennis players from Reading train and compete.

The Performance Program

Code23 sponsored the Bradfield Tennis Centre Performance Program, backing gifted young tennis players training with LTA-licensed coaches at least three times a week. It was a small part of how we supported Reading's local sporting community alongside our web and software work.

During the sponsorship period, players aged between 5 and 18 trained with the programme and took part in tournaments.

Founder and director of Code23, James Ansell is a keen tennis player himself, and through his history of involvement with the Bradfield Tennis Club, understands the importance of consistent high quality coaching and practice from an early age to develop the skills needed to compete at a national level.

About the program

Running since 2013, the program went from strength to strength, with players receiving county cup training invites. It also produced county champions, with several players breaking into the top 50 and top 100 GB rankings.

In 2018, players from the programme competed in higher-graded competitions and travelled abroad to play in international tournaments.

The program extended beyond the regular training sessions and enabled sponsored player Theo to visit the Rafael Nadal Academy in Mallorca, one of the leading sports centres in the world.

Congratulations were in order for some of that season's winners…

Victoria Danny and Mathew won tournaments, and Will, Danny and Conrad finished runners up in other events. Well done to them all!

At Code23 we loved seeing the progress of these rising stars and were delighted to have had the opportunity to get involved in such an inspiring program in our local community.
